We also strongly suggest you use a ranged weapon to deal with him, such as the Minishark, or a spell like the Demon Scythe. Once you have it, you can kite him back and forth while shooting him with projectiles to get an easy win.Īlthough you can fight him at any time, it's best to wait until you have at least Meteor Armor, or even Molten Armor. Due to his large size and huge reach, you need to build a very large battle arena to deal with him. Generally speaking, Skeletron can be killed fairly easily given you have ample room to fight him. An example of this can be seen in the above video. Once you figure out how to kite him around, you will find the fight to be much easier. If you find this to be the case, we suggest you take a little time to farm up some items, hopefully netting you some accessories that will help. When spinning, his head moves very fast, so you might find it tough to stay ahead of him without the use of the Hermes Boots. During the fight, take out his hands first, then focus down the main head, while keeping a safe distance. In Expert Mode, he hits incredibly hard, but more importantly, he moves much faster, specially when his head is spinning. In the end, the fight will be much the same as on normal, but you need to make sure to make no mistakes. Finally make sure to set some camp fires up to further increase health regen! This will allow you to kite him even when he is spinning. When you set up the battle arena, make sure at least one floor is very long, several screens at least. You will also want all the potions you can get your hands on, like the Ironskin Potion, which will further boost your defense. This means getting Molten Armor first, and also reforging all your accessories at the Goblin Tinkerer so that they have +4 defense. We highly suggest you come prepared with tons of defense. In Expert Mode, this fight can be much, much tougher. Tactics for both regular and expert mode are included below. Failure to eliminate Skeletron and entering the Dungeon produces Dungeon Guardians, near-invulnerable enemies that can slay even powerful player characters with a single hit. Mages can't go wrong with Magic Power and Magic Regeneration potions, while Summoners will always appreciate a Summoning Potion.Skeletron must be defeated before the player enters the Dungeon. If you're using Ranged, an Ammo Conservation Potion might be nice, as would an Archery Potion if you're using a bow. If you're using Melee (which works best with Molten Armor) and have defeated Queen Bee, you could buy an Imbuing Station from the Witch Doctor and make a Flask of Fire. The rest of it all depends on what kind of weapon you're using to fight Skeletron. Thorns can also be good, but can be hard to make in a Crimson world. If you care to do fishing, you could also use Endurance, as well as Wrath or Rage (depending on whether you have Corruption or Crimson). Looks like a decent enough arena maybe make it a bit longer? Also not sure why you walled it off (unless that's left over from when you were building it, which I can understand), since walling off your arena only really helps when you're fighting the Destroyer.Īs for potions, I can definitely recommend at least Swiftness/Ironskin/Regeneration, which are all pretty easy to get hold of.
